Ford will save you from the hassle by allowing you to personalize Mustang Mach-E before the day it will deliver. By the end of the year, the Mustang Mach-E SUV, Ford's first electric vehicle of consequence, will be available.

Due to the current situation, Ford requires online registration before allowing its customers to begin driving their electrical vehicles (EV). Starting on Sept. 4, Mach-E customers can now tailor their cars by inputting their home address and other essential locations, creating a personal profile, setting up climate controls and other amenities, and familiarizing themselves with nearby charging stations.

Using Ford's new feature, all those preferences will be available and ready to go from Day One when they finally accept their Mach-E delivery. Instead of sitting at a dealership providing all the critical information, customers can now do the process without leaving their house using FordPass, Ford's website, or Ford's smartphone app.

"The purpose really was to get customers excited about the vehicle that they've ordered," said Erika Raia, global EV digital experience manager of Ford.

"But it also is about that personalization factor, right," she added.

Erika also said that the company knows that customers want to personalize their cars and make it feel like their own before they even get it.

Customers will be educated with the help of Ford's new feature

The new feature aims to educate customers about owning and driving EV, especially those who have never owned an electric vehicle. It will help new owners since proper maintenance and service may be unclear to them.

With the new feature, Ford customers will be asked to indicate the periods they will be plugging and unplugging their EVs. Using this information, Ford will calculate the numbers to help customers to save money on their electric bill by maximizing the best charging times.

The feature also allows customers to locate the nearest charging stations, whether they are part of Ford's EV charging network or other car manufacturers such as Volkswagen's Electrify America.
