A certain account on Twitter which Musk follows named Viv recently posted a Tweet stating there is a big difference between both actual journalism and misleading clickbait. The statement was coupled with an actual comparison of two different news posts talking about the same topics.

The photos showed the headlines of two different news posts discussing the research study to actually assess the whole potential of having super fast cargo transportation by utilizing rockets (just like Starship Earth to Earth).

The allegations against Elon Musk and the SpaceX CEO's response

The misleading photos showed the Space News version stating that the US Transportation Command will be studying the use of SpaceX rockets in order to move cargo from all around the world while the other photo gave a totally different approach regarding the matter. The second post showed a headline by the_byte saying that SpaceX is actually creating a "military rocket" to be used to "ship weapons" to any place in the world.

Musk then replied to this tweet with a loud "Good grief!" at the beginning saying that SpaceX is actually not getting any money from this. The SpaceX CEO then clarified that the Starship is actually designed to be able to carry people as well as cargo all around Earth (and also the moon and Mars).

It was also stated by Musk that the vast majority of the rocket's use will actually be for civilian uses. The SpaceX CEO then compared it to an airline but this time, in space. Just like all airlines, the planes sometimes contain military cargo, but they are still mostly 99% civilian.

What SpaceX is actually about and what they want to do in the future

Although SpaceX has previously landed contracts with the United States Government according to an article by UPI, this does not necessarily mean that the company is not under the United States military. In fact, SpaceX is still mostly privately owned and most of its fundings, aside from the contracts won, still come from investors that have their money deeply rooted in SpaceX.

Although SpaceX is still technically not yet generating money aside from the contracts with the government, Musk has expressed his interest and goal to make it more for civilians to both travel to space as another form of destination and also use the rockets for sending cargo in a more efficient way anywhere around the world.

With the reduction in costs of SpaceX rockets costing less than $1,000/kg in comparison to the overly expensive rockets back in the day, utilizing rockets for cargo transportation and commercial use could be a possibility in the future.
