What is this Pokemon Go Charmander event?

This event is happening on Saturday, Oct. 17 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.

What's the bonus?

This community day's bonus is triple catch stardust, so check your item bag if you have a few star pieces available. You want to activate a few starpieces all at once when the community day event starts. This is a great time to rack a lot of stardust so you can power up some of your best pokemon like your best Giratina

Will incense be more effective?

At the beginning of this month, Niantic took away some of the temporary bonuses, including the incense. Hence, Chris notes that you can expect incense to be more effective for three hours when you're stationary and not moving.

Chris did some experimental research on incense and he found that incense will spawn a pokemon about every 90 seconds. You can expect around anywhere from 35 to 40 spawns per hour using incense when you're not moving.

What's the exclusive move?

The exclusive for this community today is dragon breath fast move. Charmander already had a Community Day back in May 2018 which gave away blast burn as an exclusive move and it's excellent on Charizard.

Should players expect to get dragon breath and blast burn at the Pokemon Go Charmander Community Day event?

Sadly the answer is no. You cannot get both exclusive moves when you evolve Charmeleon into Charizard. Charizard will have dragon breath and not blast burn. The only way to get blast burn for Charizard is to use an elite charge tm and those don't come around often now. There's no confirmation yet but you could wait until December to evolve a Charmeleon to Charizard and possibly get that blast burn.

Is the exclusive move good?

Dragon breath is a dragon type move so it is more relevant and useful primarily in PVP player versus player. So, if you're someone who plays Go Battle league a lot or likes to battle a lot with other trainers, then dragon breath might be good for you. Chris said that Charizard with dragon breath might be good for ultra league.

Now, if you don't do PVP and you just focus on fighting in raids, then dragon breath is only good for Mega Charizard X. Here's why dragon breath is a dragon type move and Charizard in his regular form is a fire and flying type so it works better as a fire type attacker than a dragon type attacker.

What's in the community today box?

For 1280 pokecoins you can get a community day box featuring an elite charge tm, three super incubators, three star pieces, and 30 ultra balls. Now if you want that blast burn, Chris suggests it might be worth it to get that elite charge tm.

Any other Pokemon Go Charmander Community 2020 event details?

Remember to take snapchats of your buddy five times and keep in mind there will be a timed research and field tasks to get rewards that include Charizard mega energy.

Should players ignore the one dollar ticket?

Yes. According to Chris, even though it's one dollar, he doesn't personally buy them because he doesn't get any significant rewards out of them. You'll still have the Community Day bonus and Charmanders will still appear frequently for you even without this ticket.
