One of the year's brightest meteor showers will soon graze the night skies with the Taurids already showing itself as early as late October, will quickly peak next week, and will last until the end of the month. Three more astronomical displays will join Taurid with the Leonid Meteor Shower, November's Full Beaver Moon, and a Lunar Eclipse that would all be visible this month.

October may have brought all of space's spooks and terrors that lined-up beautifully with the Halloween season. Still, this month, November is getting all the astronomical wonders that are perfect for chilling under the night sky. Taurids are expected to show up every November 5 until the 12th, and they are indeed on track to showing up.

Taurid Meteor Shower: November's Most-Awaited

According to the American Meteor Society, the Southern and Northern Taurid can be seen in the night skies as early as now and will be visible because of its "slow-burning" capabilities that light up the skies. The Northern Taurids will be brightest on Wednesday, November 11, being at its most active state.

The duo of the Southern and Northern Taurids have one of the most active and most prolonged duration of visibility among the Earth's annual visitors and night shows in the skies. According to WSTP News, these meteor showers are from a different comet and asteroid, namely Comet Encke for the South and asteroid 2004 TG10 representing the North.

The exceptionally bright meteors are one of the annual sights to see whenever the month of November comes. The Taurid meteor shower is one of the most beautiful displays of illuminating objects in the night skies and is anticipated by sightseers. Taurids can be seen with the naked eye, away from city lights and light pollution.

The Taurid is also known for exhibiting fireballs across the night sky, showing a luminous display of light and colors in the sky. Fireballs are still meteors; however, they give off a brighter appearance that is more luminous than magnitude -4. These meteors are about the same magnitude and glow as the second planet in the Solar System, Venus.

Leonid Meteor Shower: Joining November 2020's Sky Shows

Joining the Taurid is another bright and colorful display of meteors, the Leonid, which are currently peaking and will stay until November's end. According to CNet, the Leonids meteor shower hails from comet 55P/Temple Tuttle are clouds of shredded meteors that the Earth passes by whenever it orbits the Sun.

According to the American Meteor Society, that would be an unlikely appearance in the present anymore, despite the predicted 2030 meteor storm coming. The storm would be minor, ten years in the making, and would not produce such a tremendous display than 2001.

November's Full Beaver Moon and Lunar Eclipse

The Moon is up for another show this November and would feature a full-bodied shape in the skies right at the end of November. According to Lancaster, November's full moon is called the "Beaver Moon" because of the animal's activity during this time of the month.

The Beaver Moon can be seen on November 30, and would also feature a Lunar Eclipse where the Earth blocks out the light and casts a shadow on the moon's surface. Catch all the astronomical events in this cosmic-filled November 2020 with the Taurid and Leonid meteor shower, along with the Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse to end the month, all without special telescope and equipment, away from the city lights and pollutions.
