Although Tesla has been around for a while now, the electric car company is still nowhere near how long gasoline cars have dominated the world with gas stations set up in almost every corner. Tesla, along with the popularity of electric vehicles in general, was able to set up 20,000 supercharging stations according to a Tweet by the official Twitter page.

Tesla's supercharging stations vs gas stations in the United States

To put things into perspective, Tesla has 20,000 supercharging stations while the total number of gas stations in the United States is at 160,000! This means that Tesla has been able to set up 12.5% of the total gas stations as of the moment! The tally isn't over as new supercharging stations pop up every once in a while.

With the 160,000 gas stations around the United States according to Colton Willhardt, a good number of these gas stations also offer the alternative of electric charging. Although not officially recognized as a supercharging station, some of these gas stations are still offering the option for people to charge their cars.

This is also true for the number of people who have also bought a makeshift charging station at home. It is possible to charge your electric vehicle at home and this is one of the benefits of owning an electric car.

Tesla's quick brush with bankruptcy and the company's expansion plans

Tesla has been able to dominate the market as of this 2020 with stock prices soaring through the roof but it was reported that before the Tesla model 3, the electric car company was only a month away from bankruptcy. Although Elon Musk previously Tweeted that Tesla would go bankrupt as an April Fools Day joke, the threat was actually very real. Now, The company is said to be one of the most valuable companies this 2020 with CEO Elon Musk surpassing one of the most popular billionaires in the world, Warren Buffet.

Tesla has also been expanding very wide and very fast with the company's upcoming Gigafactory located in Berlin already looking to hire engineers. This could possibly be a signal that the factory is getting a little bit closer to open up.

Although Tesla sales have reached an all-time high, the company is optimistic that it can boost its sales even more if it is able to supply to Europe. The problem with its supply to Europe in the past was the logistical roadblocks but with Giga Berlin just around the corner, the demand for electric cars in the UK might allow Tesla another huge market share.

The UK is already planning to go completely electric by the year 2050 which is why there are a lot of incentives being offered to electric car owners as of the moment.
