YouTube, the biggest video sharing platform in the world, has officially announced its lists of top trending videos and creators of 2020, an annual list showing which creators have gained much attention, videos that have earned the most views, and trends that have become popular over at the platform this year.
From gaming content creators to a former NASA engineer, here are YouTube's list of Top Trends this year.
YouTube's Top Trending Videos 2020
The platform has recently published an official blog post this Tuesday, December 1, showing which creators and videos are on the list.
"This year's top trending videos show how creators quickly adapted to the unforeseen challenges of 2020 while also addressing the unique, personal needs of their communities," said Kevin Alloca, YouTube's Head of Culture & Trends.
There are tons of content on YouTube, but as the COVID-19 pandemic worsen, it became an excellent way for many to stay connected to the outside world or to escape the stress of real life.
Videos ranged from videos with social messages, comedic skits of quarantine things, entertaining but educational videos, a breakup video, and even a coming out video that became the most-watched video of its sort.
With that, here are the Top Trending Videos of 2020 in the United States:

Top Creators and Breakout Creators
When it comes to the top creators of this year, gaming content creators have been widely successful in the platform, as per TechRadar, but it came with no surprise as gaming content has dominated the platform in the last several years.
On top of this year's Top Creators list is MrBeast, who continues to provide support to the community and his supporters and create a positive impact on the world.
He is followed by health and beauty influencers, among the gaming content creators.
Among them is Chloe Ting, who went viral earlier this year during the early days of the quarantine, providing people with health and fitness tips and tutorials to keep them fit while staying at home.

YouTube has also included a list of Breakout Creators, including Chloe Ting, TikTok star Charli D'Amelio, gamer Corpse Husband, and SomeGoodNews that helped young kids experience virtual graduation celebrations and prom.
There's also a list of the Top Music Videos of the Year, which is topped by artist Future, featuring Drake, with the song "Life is Good."
Unfortunately, YouTube is canceling its annual YouTube Rewind for this year, the first time it happened since its inception in 2010, saying that "2020 has been different" and that "it doesn't feel right," according to The Verge.
