Nvidia's brand new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti is actually a surprise addition to the company's known RTX 3000 series GPUs. The new GPU is priced at just $399 and is said to go on sale soon as Nvidia has promised that it will deliver even more performance in comparison to the previous-generation of known top-of-the-line RTX 2080 as well as the 2080 Super. The RTX 3060 Ti, however, is still quite far from the top.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti price

According to an article by The Verge, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti is said to be the least expensive of the other RTX GPUs available for purchase. If the known Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 was a particular sweet spot for gamers to experience 1440p gaming, the new RTX 3060 Ti looks like it has landed an even sweeter spot with its reported extra $100 price difference.

Just like the known Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070, the new RTX 3060 Ti is said to be able to rock 4K gaming for those that are willing to knock their settings down just a little. Both cards, however, are ideally positioned directly for the 1440p market instead. The new RTX 3060 Ti is yet another great option for those that are looking to move away from the 1080p display towards a 1440p one without having to spend a whopping $699 on the new RTX 3080 or even a little extra power requirements and its power draw.

NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti review

When it comes to the hardware itself, both the RTX 3060 Ti as well as the RTX 3070 look almost identical as they are also the same shape and size and are combined along with a  traditionally known dual-fan setup. The known dual-axial fans are said to work together in order to keep the GPU cool. With the use of the right fan that is pushing air all the way through this GPU on the opposite side, the fan is able to keep its cool while the left directly cools the GPU cores with circulating air that can then be exhausted out of the unit's rear end chassis.

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti is also a quiet GPU even when the fans are spinning up when the unit reaches 73 degrees Celsius in temperature. Quite similar to the RTX 3070, the new RTX 3060 Ti also includes a dense and compact PCB that is also designed to be able to improve airflow throughout the whole GPU. Nvidia can reportedly use its brand new 12-pin power connector instead of the regular 6- or even the 8-pin ones.

There is also reportedly an adapter located inside the box that gamers would have to use. Gamers will only have to adapt a single 8-pin connector for the new RTX 3060 Ti GPU, so that this setup will not be quite as bulky as the given adapter for the known RTX 3080. The recommendation given by the article is still to pick the dedicated 12-pin connector from the PSU manufacturer in order to avoid this particularly ugly adapter altogether.
