Instagram is releasing new updates, which include fixes and new features, to enhance the user experience. Previously, Instagram was updated and linked to Facebook Messenger, allowing users of IG and Facebook to communicate with one another using both social media platforms.

Right now, users can double-tap a message in Instagram Direct Message. This allows users to send a heart. You can hold and press a message to see emoji reactions.

The new feature is a part of Facebook's cross-platform messaging feature on Instagram. According to How-To Geek's latest report, this update also messages your Facebook friends from Instagram and offers some Messenger features to IG.

How to customize IG's emoji reactions

The first thing you need to do is to update your Instagram app. You can do this by locating the app's Settings menu.

Go to your Instagram profile and tap the hamburger menu or the three horizontal lines, which is located in the top-right corner. After that, you need to select the "Settings" option and click the "Update Messaging" option.

Once you update your Instagram app, you need to tap the Messenger icon, which is located in the upper right corner of your screen. Choose any conversation or create a chatbox with one of your friends.

Send them any message and wait for their response. Once they send another message, hold the texts you received from them. You'll see a series of reactions.
At the end of the emoji series, just click the plus symbol and browse for the emoji you want to use. If you want to find it faster, just search for it by typing its name.

Would Instagram be also a shopping site?

According to The Verge's previous report, shopping content could soon arrive in Instagram Reels. IG confirmed that it previously tested a new feature that would allow creators and businesses to tag products when they create Reels. Users can also tap through the tags to buy or save them. This would be a good update since Instagram is well known for its great filters that would really make the products look more interesting. Besides, IG is mainly focused on photos, unlike Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms.
