Tesla has recently launched a new selection of size options for its new rooftop solar panel. The solar rooftop panel sizes options have now doubled in size for its homeowners all looking to switch solar.

Tesla solar panel sizes increased

According to an article by electrek, over the course of the last year, Tesla has reportedly made some massive changes towards its own solar panel price structure as well as overall offering. This was done after the company announced its new and even more efficient solar panels.

One of the most important changes was to limit the total amount of options for the size of the system from quite a lot to just four. These four options make things earlier for both homeowners to pick from and also Tesla to manage.

Here are the four Tesla solar panel sizes to choose from:

  • The 4kW

  • The 8kW

  • The 12kW

  • The 16kW

With the fewer options, the article notes that Tesla was then able to streamline its own offerings towards a lower price per kW. In fact, it is said that Tesla is now offering the lowest price per kW for the particular residents of the residential solar over in the United States.

Tesla, however, is tweaking its solar offerings in order to add a few more options. The following options still include the previous ones but there are certain options in between that homeowners can choose from.

Here are the eight new Tesla solar panel size offerings:

  • Tesla solar panel system size 4.08 kW

  • Tesla solar panel system size 6.12 kW

  • Tesla solar panel system size 8.16 kW

  • Tesla solar panel system size 10.2 kW

  • Tesla solar panel system size 12.24 kW

  • Tesla solar panel system size 14.28 kW

  • Tesla solar panel system size 16.32 kW

  • Tesla solar panel system size 18.36 kW

As of the moment, these are the new options for Tesla solar panel system homeowners and it is said that the prices have maintained quite proportional to the given offering. This means that Tesla is commanding what could be called a fair price for the different solar panel size options.

Tesla's brand new pricing structure has reportedly started to turn things around for the company's brand new solar business. Solar deployment has reportedly been falling consistently while following the acquisition of SolarCity. Tesla reportedly went from a record low of about 27 MW of solar deployment back in Q1 of 2020 up to a massive 57 MW just last quarter.
