Elon Musk recently announced that the Tesla Holiday Update is now live for electric vehicle owners to download and upgrade their vehicles to support the new "Tesla Boombox" horn function for pedestrian speakers. The new function can readily play any noise to use as the car's horn by uploading anything to the system, even the weird ones.

A Tesla vehicle is seen at a dealership on January 03, 2019 in Miami, Florida. Tesla Inc. shares have fallen as the company reported fourth-quarter Model 3 deliveries just below estimates and said it would lower the price of its cars.

One of the most popular electric vehicle manufacturers and clean energy company, Tesla, is not only updating the vehicle, but also the user experience (UX) that comes with the EVs. This is one of the most popular features of Tesla EVs, giving users the chance to personalize and optimize their cars, suited for their needs and preferences.

The Tesla experience has never been better, but Elon Musk and the company sure knows how to make it worth your while. Despite being a minor update compared to other next-generation car technology systems showing up, the Tesla Boombox function is also practical and sensible to come into the user's hands.

The technology would come in handy, as the electric vehicle's horns are reliant on the external pedestrian speaker, and not through the old-school, dealership or aftermarket car horn. According to Elon Musk's Twitter account (@elonmusk), users can now change their horn sounds to whatever sound effect or output they wish to honk out.

The Tesla CEO even included emojis of different animals that make different sounds including the goat's bleat, snake's hiss, a saxophone's sound, and a wind's "whoosh" effect or a fart. These emoji sounds may be used, but so are other sound effects that are readily available and seen on the internet.

Elon Musk: Users Can Upload Any Sound They Want

The Tesla CEO is not making any jokes or tricking people as the Tesla Boombox function can really play anything a person wants. Moreover, Elon Musk regarded this as a necessity for Tesla electric vehicles, especially with the external pedestrian speakers to generate different sounds.

A Twitter user and Tesla driver asked the CEO whether he can play "Move B*tch" by rapper and singer, Ludacris, on Tesla's new feature. Here, Elon Musk answered that it is possible, as long as users upload the songs or sound effects they want through Tesla's interface.

To do this, users need to download the song or sound effects into a USB flash drive and insert it into Tesla's available ports inside the electric vehicle. Then, users need to select the USB flash drive as the source on the Boombox feature in the car's settings through its information system or radio.

Users have five slots to fill whatever sound effects they would wish to use, and that would be copied by the electric vehicle's systems to be used, accessed, and interchanged at any time. If users want to change the Tesla Boombox output sounds, simply download new files and upload them through Tesla's system through the USB port and flash drive method.
