After being locked up in a particular Italian prison for about two days, the American Max Craddock was finally able to successfully make his case to a judge. His lawyer clarified to the investigating magistrate that the flamethrower was not a "weapon of war"  but rather a particular toy that is sold to children.

The original scoop was first reported by La Nuova then was translated and reported by TechCrunch. Craddock had reportedly been arrested over in the Sardinian port city of Olbia back in June 2018 after Craddock had tried to board a certain private party bus along with a collectible flamethrower bought from Elon Musk's latest startup that time, The Boring Company.

Craddock had reportedly painted his flamethrower black and even written on it the particular name of the said floating music festival over in the Bahamas that Craddock had reportedly attended some time the previous year while also starring in the reality TV show called the Unanchored.

'Not a Flamethrower'

Craddock said in an interview with Tech Crunch that they were all very chill during the start but as the night started to go on, things started to get worse. Craddock had to spend his very first night in jail over in Olbia and then they actually took him to prison.

When Craddock had finally managed to get a lawyer, she then told him that the judge would probably later on just let him go out with a warning. However, the magistrate then ordered him all the way back to his own cell. That was finally when Craddock learned that the possession of a certain flamethrower in Italy would carry a 10-year sentence in prison.

Can I legally buy a flamethrower?

The report by The Verge told the story yet again of the American having to do time in the Italian prison as well as how the flamethrower has even turned up in certain narcotics hauls found alongside other real guns and even bags of illegal substances. While the Not a Flamethrower was designed as a toy for adults, the law in other places might still consider this an actual weapon.

The Not a Flamethrower name, although may be very accurate, according to the story shows how police hailing from all around the world could react whenever presented with a certain gun-shaped device that shoots out flames. The police might not join the owners laughing about the zany project ideas by Elon Musk and might even end up arresting them.

The entertaining part of the story is when the lawyer had to clarify that this was not a weapon of war but should be treated as a particular toy that the company sells to children. Of course, it would not be advisable to give a young child a flamethrower. More accurately, this could be considered a toy for adults.
