The new seasonal event will bring new exciting changes that will grab the fans' attention. According to Dot Esports' latest report, Niantic, the game's developer, is currently preparing the fans for the next limited-run Pokémon Go Battle League event that will coincide with the holiday.

What makes this new event exciting is it will not be like the previous events. Instead of allowing the use of Pokemon from specific regions or limiting the pool to a certain type of matchups, Love Cup will is expected to be more general.

When will Love Cup start?

The new event of "Pokemon GO' is expected to run from Feb. 8 to Feb. 15. Once Love Cup starts, the players will only be able to compete with the Pokemon listed have color pink or red in the game's database. Legendary and Mythical Pokemon will not be included in the matchups and the set will be limited to 1,500.

Speculations claimed that the game developer decided to use the colors pink and red so that Charmander and Scrafty will be included.

However, it is still confusing for some players since Charmander only becomes red when he evolves to Charmeleon. On the other hand, Scrafty only red linings, and his body is far from being full red in color.

Niantic also clarified that Galarian Darumaka, Galarian Mr. Mime, and Galarian Darmanitan are also not included in the event.

Love Cup's new attack updates!

According to Pokemon GO Live's latest report, the event will have new attack updates for Trainer Battles. Here's the complete list you need to know;

  • Sky Attack: This Flying-type Charged Attack will now deal less damage.
  • Rock Slide: This Rock-type Charged Attack will now deal less damage.
  • Razor Leaf: This Grass-Type Fast Attack will now deal less damage.
  • Bubble: This Water-Type Fast Attack will now deal less damage.
  • Shadow Bone: This Ghost-type Charged Attack will now deal less damage.
  • Ember: This Fire-type Fast Attack will now deal more damage.
  • Karate Chop: This Fighting-type Fast Attack will now generate more energy.
  • Crabhammer: This Water-type Charged Attack will now deal more damage.

On the other hand, there will also new abilities that will be available to those pocket-monsters who can't learn them before;

  • Tri Attack: This powerful Normal-type attack will now be available to Porygon-2.
  • Ice-type Weather Ball: This powerful Ice-type attack will now be available to Vulpix and Ninetales originally discovered in the Alola region.
  • Fire-type Weather Ball: This powerful Fire-type attack will now be available to Vulpix and Ninetales originally discovered in the Kanto region.
  • Water-type Weather Ball: This powerful Water-type attack will now be available to Politoed.
  • Mud Shot: This powerful Ground-type Fast Attack will now be available to Excadrill.
  • Ice Punch: This powerful Ice-type attack will now be available to Primeape.
  • Ice Beam: This powerful Ice-type attack will now be available to Claydol.
  • Shadow Ball: This powerful Ghost-type attack will now be available to Claydol.
