The "Genshin Impact" community has immediately noticed the sudden change in one of the game's top-class elemental healers. Some reported that it was toned down and she lost her enthusiasm in speaking her 'lively' in-game lines.

According to PC GamesN, Barbara used to be optimistic and highly-spirited due to the fact that she is a songstress who loves healing everyone. For instance, when you use Xiao in the battle at the start of your journey, Barbara's vibrant cheer is what you will hear.

Since the "Genshin Impact 1.3" update, Barbara's voice seemed to lack the dynamic appeal and energetic energy the fans wanted to hear. You could assume that she got sick but that's not the case in her new voice.

A Reddit user named u/HereforGames posted Barbara's new voice makes her like a granny at bingo night. The commenter requested miHoYo, a Chinese video game developer of "Genshin Impact" to bring back the old Barbara which is vivacious in words and actions.

"I can't believe how thoroughly they have ruined her character with this one change. It's like they wanted to portray her more as a priestess than a pop idol when her entire gimmick is being a pop idol," the eight-year Reddit poster added.

If you pay attention to the old voice of Barbara in the game, the voice actress that you will see behind her is Laura Stahl. But if you listen closely to her lines in the game, something has entirely changed with the way she speaks. It is most noticeable when you cast her elemental abilities like the 'Shining Miracle' and 'Let The Show Begin.'

Indeed, Barbara's new voice change caught a lot of fans in shock. A commenter from a thread of Siliconera named SevPOOTs said that he loves that coarseness of Barbara's voice when she is screaming. On the other hand, another user, Zielicious posted on the same thread that the new voice of Barbara fits her character much better than before.
