On March 2019, Lyka app was launched in Southeast Asia and immediately trended on Twitter. It piqued people's interest and curiosity in January 2021 after a famous Filipino actress featured it on her YouTube video and it went viral.

What is the Lyka app?

Lyka is an app that combines social media with content creation, e-commerce and community. According to Yugatech, 1 Lyka gem is equal to Php 1, and users get five gems as soon as they create an account.

You can also use your gems at any partner merchant. Currently, you can use your Lyka app on retailers like Mango, Guess, Plains and Prints, Happy Skin, New Balance and BLK Cosmetics.

You can also use it in restaurants like Brotzeit, Ramen Nagi, Senor Pollo, Barcino, Sushi Nori, Saboten, Tai Koo Roast, Tipsy Pig, Tap Station, Wild Flour, Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory, BLK513, Cold Stone Creamery, Kanto Freestyle Breakfast, Uncle Moe's, Samgyup MNL, Persia Grill and Tim Hortons. They all accept Lyka gems in lieu of cash as payments.

You can also use the gems for massive ticket purchases: Ford, Nissan and Vespa are some of the dealerships in the Philippines that accept the payment in Lyka gems.

Aside from using the gems in buying items and eating out in partner merchants, you can also use the gems while shopping at the Lyka Mall, a virtual mall that is run by the Lyka company.

How to earn money in Lyka app

You can use the platform in order to earn some money. The first tip that you need to take note of is that the more that you post photos or videos, the more you will be able to earn.

Also, the posts of the user should be original and it should be of high quality. If the quality is good, then you will earn more gems.
