AMD's inbound Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics card has turned up in a new batch of leaked benchmarks, and the leak came from a game where the GPU is compared to the RX 5700 XT.

Any pre-release benchmarking should be treated with caution, but if the leaks made by Tum_Apisak on Twitter are legitimate, they show how the AMD RX 6700 XT stacks up to the 5700 XT when running Ashes of the Singularity.

While Ashes of the Singularity is regarded as a game benchmark, the highlight here is that the graphics cards have been tested in the same PC, so it is theoretically at a level playing field.

According to VideoCardz, three comparative runs were made at 1080p, 1440p, and 4K resolutions. At Full HD, the Radeon RX 6700 XT was 26% faster. As for the 1440p, the RX 6700 XT was faster than its predecessor at around 33%, and at 4K, the RX 6700 XT was 36% faster.

A promising GPU

On average, across all of the three runs, the new GPU proved itself to be around 32% faster than the RX 5700 XT, but this is before the graphics driver has been tuned and finalized for the launch of the graphics card.

In short, it is a promising glimpse of potential performance.

AMD's RX 6700 XT graphics card is scheduled to be released on Mar. 18, and fans can expect a long queue when trying to purchase the new GPU.

AMD has been making sure that the RX 6700 XT stock is better than the company's previous launches, but experts have warned that availability may be shaky.

Retail stores to watch out for

According to igor'sLAD, there are a few thousand pieces of the AMD RX 6700 XT available for the EU as a whole.

There are also claims from other sources like the Red Gaming Tech on YouTube that say a different figure, predicting that the United Kingdom could receive between 1,000 and 2,000 units at launch, with shipments of this quantity being delivered weekly.

A global shortage of GDDR6 memory has been referenced as the cause of AMD and NVIDIA's supply issues, though interfering shipments of COVID-19 vaccinations have been suggested as a factor.

The chipmakers have predicted that ongoing supply issues for components could mean that there won't be a stable GPU availability at least until 2022.

Even if the hardware shortage is resolved, gamers will still be fighting against crypto miners and bots to get their hands on the new GPU.

Thus, it is important to note the retailers that will have the AMD RX 6700 XT come Mar. 18. You can check Best Buy's website from time to time to view the GPU's availability.

You can also check Amazon, AMD's official website, Target, and Walmart.
