On Wednesday, March 24. MacRumors reported that Steve Jobs, the late-ex-CEO of Apple, had his job application sold that was posted up for auction on February 24.

Jobs had made this resume in hopes of landing a job after he had dropped out of Reed College in 1973. He attended the college for around at least six months.

A year later, in 1974, he began to work for a company known as Atari as a technician.

He would soon join together with Steve Wozniak in a collaboration to create Apple in 1976.

The document was sold on Bidspotter at a hammer price of 162,000 GBP, which is $221,848, and taxes, making it $222,400.

Being rare as it is and from Steve Jobs himself, the document is found to be expensive.

The last time the paper was sold is in 2018 was only $175,000. This spike in price means the document has accumulated in price throughout the years.

Steve Jobs' first Apple application

The rare questionnaire had some interesting answers from Steve Jobs, like not having a previous job before entering college. The application had his name, birthday, and his college major, which was English lit.

Jobs was also asked if he had a cellphone in which he answered "no," which may be why he started Apple years later. Steve Jobs had also had a driver's license to get around, but when asked if he had a means of transportation, he said, "Possible but not probable."

Another one of the questions asked by the questionnaire was his skills in technology. Jobs had put down he was skilled in computers and the calculator because of design tech.

Under special abilities, Steve Jobs wrote Electronic Tech, Design Engineer, and Digital.

Steve jobs, even though being English-lit, had many skills in technology. It is no wonder he was able to create the first iPhone years later.

Is the Document Authentic?

Yes, the document is authentic as it can be. The auction for this document in 2018 had come with letters and certificates of authenticity.

The paper itself is also used to prove its authenticity, as Bidspotter says the application is in very good condition. However, creasing, light stains, and very old clear tape holding it together at the top can prove that this was the old ex-CEO application.

There was also an old Max Os X technical manual that Steve Jobs signed in 2001. According to MacRumors, there is a short story that is tied to the signature. The old manual was obtained in a parking lot following an Apple training session in Cupertino.
