PS5 is still pretty hard to get since it is one of the most in-demand gaming consoles, together with Xbox Series X/S. However, there are some lucky people that were able to grab one of their own. Several of them even redesign their PS5's physical appearance.

Previously, there was a PS5 version that is based on the popular adventure game "The Last of Us." And now, another PlayStation 5 owner was able to change his console's design into something new. The YouTuber Matthew Perks is the first one to create a PS5 Brass.

Comic Book reported that the online influencer explained in his latest video that brass is a pretty flexible metal.

"Makes it so exciting to use for homemade projects however is that it can be bent cut soldered to and polished with relative ease, allowing for incredible results even using just basic tools," he explained.

Building the new PS5 Brass

In the first part of the video, Perks dismantled his PS5. After that, he cut a paper template to match the shape of the console's mid-cover. To trim the brass to match the PlayStation 5's shape, he used paper and a jigsaw to cut the metal.

He said that it is difficult to match the actual shape of the mid-cover since brass is too brittle. But, the hard part is just starting. After he finished the middle part of the console, Perks started working on the gaming device's wings, which is the hardest part since PS5's sides have a very unusual shape.

To solve this issue, he used a pencil to trace the original form of PlayStation 5's wings into the wood. The YouTuber then cut the wood into various pieces that would be his guide in molding the brass to match the wings' shapes.

How Perks managed to make a perfect PS5 Brass

The YouTuber said that the most important tool he used to finish his own PS5 Brass is the blowtorch. Perks explained that this equipment allowed him to heat up the metal parts so that he could bend them properly without actually breaking them into pieces.

Matthew Perks is just one of the people who are currently customizing their PS5 consoles. The Gamer reported that this activity is popular since Sony hasn't released PlayStation 5 in other color options. Although the game developer only offers one version of its latest console, it is still enhancing PS5.

Previously, Sony confirmed that its new internal storage upgrades will arrive in the summer, allowing players to use M.2 SSD storage expansion cards. You can click here for more details.
