Honor, the erstwhile subsidiary of the Chinese tech giant, Huawei said that their upcoming flagship phones are coming soon with support for Google Android apps. Following the early leaks about the 50 series mobile, the problem for the teased P50 series was its availability in the US market.

The ban that the United States imposed would not allow Huawei from collaborating with other major companies like Google for the production of their smartphone. Besides, the global chip shortage continues, and this bars the tech manufacturers from creating a prototype of the electronics gadget which should have been released at an earlier date.

When the US punished Huawei, Honor was also included in the ban. The fact that it has been a subsidiary of the major tech titan is bad news for it especially if it wants to independently launch a smartphone. Currently, Honor is not under Huawei anymore, and this is the best opportunity for it to unveil its products to the public.

According to BGR's report on Wednesday, June 16, the upcoming Honor 50 Pro and Honor 50 would be Google-supported. This would benefit the manufacturer in the long run since many customers would be able to purchase the flagship phones.

Honor 50 and Honor 50 Pro Features

The previous Huawei P50 leak said that it would come in May or June. Last month, there was no news about its arrival, but this month we could possibly take a sneak peek of what it could offer to us.

As expected after Huawei parted ways with Honor, the flagship 50 series is not similar to the rumored P50. The good news about this is the mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor which replaces the 888 chip. According to Honor, the current processor would be matched with the Hunter Boost and GPU Turbo X to optimize the phone's performance.

Furthermore, you could not experience any overheating issues thanks to 50 Pro's VC Liquid Cooling and "High Thermal Conductivity Graphene" technology.

On top of their chips, they would also feature a fast-charging capability. The Pro version will be faster than the regular 50 variants. It will come with 100 W charging (4,000 mAh) while the other one can recharge at 66W (4,300 mAh). In short, it would only take 20 minutes 50 and 50 Pro to reach 70% and 90% respectively.

In their cameras, they will be boasting a set of quad-lens cams at the rear. There is also a single 100 MP lens, together with two 2 MP lenses for macro and depth cameras, in addition to the 9 MP wide-angle camera.

If you want to purchase 50 Pro, you would receive an additional 12 MP ultra-wide cam beside the 32 MP lens which the Honor 50 offers.

"Honor devices will therefore have the option to have Google Mobile Services ("GMS") preinstalled on compatible devices, in accordance with Google's licensing and governance models," Google confirmed via The Verge.

An Honor representative, meanwhile, said that their consumers would surely experience the Google App support in their tablets and smartphones. The package will also be included in the 50 series phones since many users want to have access to the Google Play Store.

The flagship phones will be released in China for their global launch. The Honor 50's price will sit at 2,699 yuan ($422) while the Honor 50 Pro can be purchased at 3,699 ($579). Starting June 25, you could place your pre-orders after its initial launch.
