Airspeeder Flying Electric Car race series is soon coming, thanks to its successful test flight of the Alauda Aeronautics Mk3, resembling that of a single-seater aircraft. There are a lot of flying car innovations in the industry now, and it would present a brand new way of traffic once it gets its approval for a commercial release.

The Rise of Flying Cars, a.k.a. eVTOL

Previously, flying cars were notorious for their engine and gas-powered nature, but recent developments have adopted electric motors and power cells on their ventures, signaling a new future.

Flying cars seen today may not look like what a person in the past would think of when hearing the words "flying cars." But this term not refers to vehicles that can be used more like a car, rather than an aircraft.

There are a lot of companies that ventured into the flying car technology, otherwise known as eVTOL or "electric vertical take-off and landing." This mainly talks about a vehicle that can hover or launch from the ground without needing a runway to get up to speed and propel itself.

Previously, Uber has expressed their interest in the eVTOL technology and asks a NASA expert for assistance.

According to the recent press release of the Australian eVTOL company, Airspeeder, they have tapped the capabilities of flight, maneuverability, and mobility with the recent test flight of their flying car. The car is called the Alauda Aeronautics Mk3, which features an eight-rotor vehicle that is capable of going at high speeds even in the air.

The company has boasted of the vehicle's features, and it includes performance and features for the vehicle, which is also electric. What Airspeeder wants to release is the possibility of enjoying a flying car without the risks of endangering the environment with its electric motor that powers its rotors and propels the vehicle to the air.

The achievement of flight is historic for the company, as it brings the electric vehicle to new heights, and aims for a race series to evolve from this venture. The Alauda Mk3 is focusing more on performance and speeds, alongside maneuverability which would be a new key skill to master when flying the eVTOL on an aerial racecourse.

Will the Airspeeder Alauda Mk3 Get a Public Release?

Currently, Airspeeder is focused on achieving more for the vehicle and furthering its performance to reach the company's goal of debuting a race series for the new breed of vehicles.

This also puts it alongside the likes of Lilium that has also been in the works for an eVTOL vehicle and has partnered with Honeywell on the said venture.

Airspeeder's goals of debuting a race series for flying cars is massive, and probably would only be open for eVTOLs or electric vehicles. Tesla's Roadster with SpaceX Package can fly said Elon Musk, but cannot be considered an eVTOL as it cannot propel itself off the ground in a vertical manner.
