Who can resist Pizza Hut's stuffed-crust pizza? As hard as it may be, those with gluten intolerances or allergies are forced to refrain from eating pizza at the chain— that is until now.

Pizza Hut will start serving gluten-free pizza to about 2,400 of the chain's 6,300 locations beginning Jan. 26.

The choice to enter the gluten-free trendy scene comes two whole years after Domino's starting selling pizza with a gluten-free crust. But unlike Domino's, Pizza Hut's new pizza will be the first pizza that is certified as completely gluten-free among the major pizza chains.

The chain has partnered up with Udi's Gluten-Free Foods, the largest gluten-free company, and the non-profit Gluten Intolerance Group to appeal to the niche market of gluten-free consumers.

"This will get new users into the brand and existing users to visit more frequently," says Pizza Hut CEO David Gibbs.

The gluten-free pie will be 10-inches with six slices for $9.99. Each slice will only be about 150 calories, 100 calories less than the Skinny Slice pizza.

The pizza will include Udi's gluten-free crust along with cheese, marinara sauce and pepperoni, which all come in a Gluten-Free kit. The pizza will then be baked by employees who must wear gloves and use a specific pizza cutter when preparing orders. The pizza will be delivered in a Udi's Gluten-Free Pizza box.

The market for gluten-free products has continued to gain popularity over the past few years. While only one percent of Americans have Celiac disease, the autoimmune disease that causes an immune system reaction to gluten, gluten-free diets continue to be a trend. According to research from Datamonitor, 22 percent of Americans purchase gluten-free products on occasion.

The first Cheese and Pepperoni Gluten-Free Pizzas will be served at the A&E's official after- party at the Critics' Choice Movie Awards this Thursday.
