T-Mobile has risen above competitors when it comes to 5G network reliability, speed, and coverage, according to a new report. 

The new report was published by an independent research firm called umlaut. 

According to Business Wire, this marks the second time T-Mobile has come on top of an umlaut research on 5G reliability, coverage and speed. Other wireless network providers umlaut looked into for its report are AT&T and Verizon.

T-Mobile has been ranked number one when it comes to 5G network reliability, speed, and coverage, rising over fellow wireless network providers such as AT&T and Verizon. 

The umlaut report was based on real customer experience and looked into over 43 million data samples. These data samples came from more than 70,000 5G users in the United States. The data the report was based on was collected from January 25, 2021, until July 11, 2021. 

According to the report, T-Mobile has "the most reliable 5G mobile network." T-Mobile's 5G network also has the most coverage nationwide, the highest 5G score nationwide, and the highest score in the Speed category. 

Just last April, T-Mobile announced 5G speeds averaging from 50 mbps to 100 mbps would be rolled out to users.

How Competitors Fared Against T-Mobile

Based on the umlaut report, T-Mobile had a total 5G Score of 707 out of a possible 1,000 points. AT&T's 5G network came in second place, scoring 632 out of the possible 1,000 points. Verizon followed in third place with 599 points. 

According to the report, T-Mobile also reigned supreme in 40 out of 50 states. 

T-Mobile's 5G Performance in 10 U.S. Markets

The Business Wire article also stated that T-Mobile commissioned a separate umlaut report to look into the performance of its 5G network in 10 U.S. markets. These 10 U.S. markets include the cities of Austin, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas - Fort Worth, Houston, Minneapolis - St. Paul, New York City, Newark-Jersey City, Philadelphia, and Washington DC.

According to the commissioned umlaut report, T-Mobile "clearly shows faster overall download speeds, on average at least 2.2 times higher than the competition." It also says that the T-Mobile 5G network's download speed goes up to 318 Mbps 

Per the Business Wire article, "Average download speeds for T-Mobile's 5G clocked in at 228 Mbps across the cities and reached a blazing 300 Mbps in Washington DC."

The commissioned umlaut report by T-Mobile also says that the company has "very high 5G availabilities" and leads in U.S. markets such as Austin, Dallas - Fort Worth, Newark-Jersey City, Chicago, Charlotte, Minneapolis, and Houston.

T-Mobile's average 5G upload speeds likewise reached 46 Mbps, which was almost double the closest competitor.
