Pizza is probably one of the best things that man has ever come up with. Whether you like the traditional Italian pizza or you would rather go all-American with New York or Chicago-style pizzas, there's a pizza out there for everybody.

It also seems like pizza is also no stranger to technology and innovation. In fact, there are pretty cool pizza-related tech innovations that people have come up with that can make your cooking and eating experience even better.

Pizza Origins

Pizza, as everyone probably knows by now, originated from Italy. Flatbreads with toppings, however, have been consumed by ancient civilizations such as the Greek and Egyptians, according to an article by History. Naples, however, is considered the modern birthplace of pizza.

The early pizzas in Naples, which were usually sold along the streets, had toppings much like the ones that are seen in pizzas today, including garlic, tomatoes, and cheese.

Pizza Robots

Pizzas may be centuries-old, but technology has still found a way to innovate the classic pizza experience. One such way that technology has taken things up a notch when it comes to pizza are the pizza robots.

Early this year, a pizza-making robot made by a company called Picnic caught people's attention when it sold over 500 pizzas with less than 1% recorded food waste. Back in April, popular pizza chain Domino's rolled out its pizza delivery robot that can self-drive.

Other Pizza-Related Gadgets and Innovations

Robots that make and even deliver pizza are not the only pizza-related innovations that people have come up with.

Ever imagined eating a pizza from a vending machine? Better yet, ever imagined eating a pizza from a vending machine in Rome of all places? Believe it or not, it is a reality these days thanks to Massimo Bucolo, who installed the city's first pizza vending machine.

According to a report by The New York Times, the pizza vending machine "makes a fresh pizza from scratch in exactly three minutes." You read that right. Fresh pizza from scratch by a pizza-making chance.

If you don't think that's pretty cool, there is one nifty pizza-related invention that you may end up wishing to have.

Matty Benedetto, the YouTuber behind the channel "Unnecessary Inventions," has come up with a device that can remove pizza toppings you do not like very easily. If you hate seeing vegetables or slices of pineapple on your pizza, it apparently can be removed without having to pick them out one by one.

In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Benedetto shows the viewers just how this device works. The tool features a push button and spring-loaded blades. All Benedetto does with the device in his video is that he puts it over the section where the unwanted topping is and repeatedly presses the push button until the section is chopped away.
