Tech CEO's feature of the week is none other than one of the topmost powerful women in the world, and it is Phuthi Mahanyele-Dabengwa, the current CEO and symbol of Naspers Limited. A lot of powerful women have emerged in the spotlight in the past years already, but this tech CEO has proven herself in many aspects, as well as running a multi-billion dollar company.

Phuthi Mahanyele-Dabengwa: Who is She?

Phuthi Mahanyele-Dabengwa is a multi-tech CEO in different companies, having a colorful career over the past, before her taking up the role with Naspers Limited South Africa and becoming an icon and symbol to the company.

According to the Gordon Institute of Business Science from the University of Pretoria, Mahanyele-Dabengwa's career began in 1993, back when the executive started her career on Fieldstone in New York. Since then, the CEO has gathered up experiences and qualifications for her career, joining Shanduka Group in 2004, and in her later years has taken up the CEO role until 2015.

After her stint at Shanduka, she held joined Sigma Capital and also held the role of an executive chairperson, as well as co-founding the UK company. Eventually, she was called into position and took up the role of CEO at Naspers SA in 2019, being a symbol within the company.

Phuthi Mahanyele-Dabengwa has a BA Economics degree from Rutgers University from the United States and an MBA from De Montfort University from the United Kingdom. She also had an Executive Education program at Harvard University back in 2008.

Naspers Limited and its CEO

Mahanyele-Dabengwa joined Naspers South Africa in 2019 and was appointed as the CEO. Her career in Naspers had helped in its growth as much as $4 billion more than before she joined. Her day-to-day now focuses on massive technological advancements and innovations that promote its evolution.

Women in Power

In the 21st century, women have been gaining more and more of the recognition they deserve, as well as the opportunities that were previously not offered to them. Now, they prove themselves to be powerful people, and that gender is just a concept made during the earlier times that has discriminated some from getting equal opportunities as their male counterparts.

The world has several powerful and influential women in the present, and they make history in everything that they do and contribute to the world. Phuthi Mahanyele-Dabengwa is one of the many women trying to make a change and bring their knowledge and experiences to the field.

Their efforts and actions are a massive inspiration to women, as well as everyone in the community.
