Facebook does not notify when someone blocks you on its platform. This means that you will have to do a bit of digging to find out for yourself.

Facebook's Block Feature

First, you can try looking for the profile of the person you suspect has blocked you in the search bar at the top of the Facebook home page. If you have been blocked, the profile won't show up in the search results.

Another way of checking is to have a look for that same profile in your Friends list. If they are not there, it is possible you have been blocked, according to The Sun.

A third technique involves a bit of hunting on Google. While you can't see profiles who have blocked you in Facebook's search result, they will still appear on public searches.

Try Googling "Facebook [peson's name]" and see if their profile comes up. If it does, tap or click on it. If you get an error message saying that the content is unavailable then you may have been blocked.

To confirm a suspected blocking, you could try viewing the profile from a friend's account to see if it shows up for them. You can also wield the Facebook Message app to catch a blocker red handed, according to Mirror.uk.

If you can no longer send them anything on Messenger, or can no longer invite them to events or groups, then it is possible that you are blocked. Their posts will also disappear from your Facebook feed.

You won't be able to tag someone that is blocked or unfriended you in a post. Keep in mind that a lot of signs that someone has blocked you are similar to the signs that someone has deleted their Facebook profile.

Before taking it personally, you could try reaching out to the person on a different platform and checking whether they have ditched Facebook, according to Business Insider.

Unfriending Someone on Facebook

To unfriend someone, you need to go to that person's profile by typing their name into the search bar at the top of Facebook.

Next, click at the top of their profile, click Unfriend, then select Confirm. Note: if you can't find the person that you want to unfriend, their account may be deactivated.

To unfriend someone who has deactivated their Facebook account, you need to click your profile picture in the top right of Facebook. Next, click on Friends and search for the person's name. Select More and then select Unfriend.

The person that you unfriended won't be notified about what you did. If you do not want someone to see your Facebook profile, add you as a friend or even send you a message, you can just block them.

Keep in mind that if you unfriend someone, you will also be removed from that person's friend list. If you want to be friends with the person again, you will need to add them as a friend again.

If you just don't want to see their posts but want to keep them as a friend, you can choose the Unfollow feature in Facebook. In this way, you can go through your feed without having to see their posts.
