Notice that some of your Facebook friends appear to be younger in their photos? That's because Facebook users are taking a walk down memory lane, reposting their very first Facebook profile picture in the latest embarrassing trend.

And why would anyone want to show the world an old picture for the second time? Well because someone dared them to. That's right, just as we saw with the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, Facebookers are nominating other friends to take part in the throwback challenge.

And while some people are rather new to Facebook, the site will turn 11-years-old on Feb. 4, meaning that those who signed up of the site back then might be really embarrassed to show off their 2004 self. Reliving my horrible fashion choices from my senior year in high school? I think not.

Little is known about how this new trend came to be, but it appears just to be a way to make #TBT an everyday thing. The health advocacy organization Mental Health Ireland is using this new trend to encourage people to donate when sharing old photos while nominating others to do the same.
