CD Projekt Red culminated its REDStream on Tuesday morning with the highly anticipated reveal of the next-gen upgrade for 2020's infamous Cyberpunk 2077. The next-gen upgrade, along with several new enhancements via the 1.5 patch, are all now available for fans to enjoy, but the question remains: is it enough?

Debuting in late 2020 to incredible hype, Cyberpunk 2077 no sooner became a cautionary tale to publishers and developers alike. While the industry thrives on releasing content early and updating it later, Cyberpunk was supposed to be completely different, completely fresh, and completely tantalizing.

It was released to myriad ire, with much of the game being incredibly unplayable and bugs making the experience difficult to finish. Much of what was initially promised with the game was sadly not available, but CDPR has maintained a clear and honest picture when it comes to Cyberpunk 2077. It wants nothing more than to keep its futuristic Los Angeles ripe for action and playability.

Amid its REDStream on Tuesday morning, CDPR developers talked about all the new deets inherent in the next-gen upgrade, with one of the devs playing as the other three discussed the enhancements. From reworked pedestrian animations and skip time features to apartment customizations and even throwing knives, all seems quite a step-up from Cyberpunk 2077's initial debut.

After its broadcast, CDPR released a Patch 1.5 overview that clearly divulges upon all the various upgrades that the livestream didn't have time to go over. These include the PS5 exclusive of DualSense adaptive controller features, as well as ray-traced local shadows, additional purchasable apartments, hairdressing, visual quality improvements, and even new weapons.

Unfortunately, the REDStream did not feature any other Cyberpunk 2077 news, specifically any multiplayer updates, Edgerunner Netflix series trailers, or even forthcoming DLC. While this may be a bummer to some fans who really want to see what CDPR has in store for Cyberpunk 2077, it's better left in the shadows given the dev's previous track record of announcing stuff far too early in advance. With the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions now available to new and old fans, CDPR will most likely go back into hiding as more developments on the game ensued. The 1.5 patch will also allow previous generations to host much-needed quality of life improvements, specifically rebalanced gameplay.

Those interested can also try out the game on next-gen consoles as CDPR is offering a free demo of the experience that will allow players up to 5 hours of Cyberpunk 2077. It doesn't get much better than that, choommbas.
