Tesla's Car Colorizer launched in the United States and other regions outside of China after initially launching in the East Asian region last Lunar New Year. The feature has been available after several weeks since it was first released in China, and it may be so that it is still testing it before its global launch.

However, how does the "Car Colorizer" work, and does it change the car's color in real life?

According to a tweet from Tesla, the Car Colorizer feature arrived in the United States for the first time, bringing the ability to change the car's color in the screen or app. Yes, that is right, users can now change or customize the appearance of their electric vehicles in the infotainment system with a color wheel and save its look on the device.

It will be the display color that users can see when navigating their vehicle using features like the Autopilot or FSD. It moves away from the factory color that is the default setting in one's infotainment, and it would help in refreshing its look.

The feature launched in update 2022.4.5, but according to Tesla leaker "green," the feature shares the same patch notes as update 2022.2.1 in China.

Tesla Car Colorizer: Does it Change your Vehicle Color?

No, the Tesla Car Colorizer does not change the color of one's car in real life or the paint itself. The only thing that it can change is the color in the app or infotainment system, so one's hope of rolling out in different color moods may be spoiled by this update.

The current version may seem like a minor update to the feature, and it would only be for the preferences of some in the app, but it still helps in refreshing the screens to one's preferred colors.

It may also help match the color used on one's wrap on the vehicle done in external shops.

Tesla EV Features

One of the top features of Tesla is its FSD available on most modern releases of the company and its ability to bring a self-driving feature for the vehicle and help its users on their daily drive. The FSD is available because of the many layers put into its development, says Elon Musk, when developing its Neural Network AI with its supercomputers.

The clean energy company and vehicle manufacturer also has the Boombox program that still disputes the NHTSA about its safety feature. The Boombox resembles its literal meaning as a giant speaker in the olden days, but in this case, it is the customizable music or sounds that a person can use as a horn.

Tesla brings a lot of features to its EVs, but there is nothing like the car colorizer on the market now. However, it is not as advanced as users think it is, as it can only change the color on display in the app or screen, but not in real life.

The feature to change the vehicle's paint is not yet here, but it may also be something that Tesla would bring soon if it solves its security issues for the highway police.
