PlayStation's Xbox Game Pass-Like Service: Spartacus

As per a news story by ComicBook.com, there have been reports that PlayStation is working on a similar subscription service to the successful Xbox Game Pass.

Rumors regarding the PlayStation Spartacus came about last year, suggesting that the Sony gaming platform is releasing a service that should rival the Game Pass of Microsoft.

In the past couple of months that rumors have been saying that Sony is working on the new subscription service, there have been no specific details regarding the PS Spartacus.

This time around, though, according to a recent report by GameSpot, the multiple tiers of the rumored service have been leaked, along with its varying price tags.

The tentative names of the three tiers of the upcoming subscription services are Essential, Extra, and the top-of-the-line Premium. These generic monikers for tiers are reportedly still subject to change.

The starting tier of the upcoming service, the Essential, gives its users a limited amount of games every month for a price tag of $10.

On the other hand, the middle tier, known as the Extra, also provides monthly gaming titles like the Essential. However, what sets it apart from the cheapest option is it provides access to more gaming titles, which is more like the current PlayStation Now. This option costs a monthly fee of $13.

Meanwhile, the highest tier, touted to be the Premium one, is packed with tons of games, including what is available on both the Essential and Extra. Not to mention that it even comes with streaming features on the PlayStation Now.

On top of that, the Premium tier also comes with "classic games," as well as an option for "game trials," which gives its users a chance to try out unreleased games.

The most expensive tier of the upcoming PS service comes with a monthly price tag of $16.
