Apple is set to have an event on Mar. 8 to introduce its new lineup of iPhones and Mac computers. Mark Gurman from Bloomberg stated that the tech giant might reveal an all-new Mac Studio and a standalone monitor called Studio Display.

Apple's Mac Studio and Studio Display

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Mac Studio is rumored to be smaller than a Mac Pro, but it is more powerful than a Mac mini, which could be a compact standalone computer targeted at professionals.

Last week, 9to5Mac published a report about Mac Studio, and a new Apple Monitor called Studio Display.

The new monitor will reportedly run iOS and be powered by one of Apple's A-series chips, which are usually found in its iPads and iPhones.

However, it is still not clear what the exact specs of the monitor are, but rumors are saying that Apple may release them both on 5K and 7K models, according to The Verge.

Gurman also reported that both devices are ready to use, which is why he is expecting Apple to announce them at the event on Mar. 8.

However, in a recent report, he said that Apple is planning a second rollout in May or June, where additional Macs could be launched.

Another source of Apple rumors, Ming-Chi Kuo, also believes that the tech giant has a more powerful Mac mini on the way this year, which he believes will be joined by a more affordable 27-inch display.

However, Kuo's report does not mention whether he expects them to be announced this week and only notes that he expects both to arrive before 2022 ends.

Gurman's Mac prediction dates back to January 2021, when he reported that the tech giant had a new Mac in development aimed at professionals and would be smaller compared to the current Mac Pro.

Gurman said that the design would feature an aluminum exterior and nostalgia for the Power Mac G4 Cube.

In 2021, Gurman reported that Apple had started developing a lower-priced alternative to its $5,000 6K Pro Display XDR aimed at consumers instead of professionals.

This week, Gurman said that Apple might have two displays in development, a 5K low-end model and a 7K successor to the current Pro Display XDR. If Gurman and Kuo's predictions are accurate, people may see the 5K model announced at the event.

Other Devices to Expect at the Apple Event

The Mac Studio and the new external Studio Display could be announced at an event that is expected to focus on a new 5G-capable iPhone SE. It will also feature a new iPad Air with 5G capability.

Apple's event on Mar. 8 is called Peek Performance. It is the first event of the tech giant for 2022. Another device that people can expect is MacBook Air with a new M2 chip.

The current design of the MacBook Air was introduced in 2018, and it was a testbed for the Apple M1 chip that was introduced in 2020.
