Google is planning something big for its smartphone operating system, and it is with the Android Archive app that will help in the storage needs and requirements of users. The app would help in bringing extra storage for people by archiving the additional files that do not need to be taking it up, only leaving the necessities for what the user needs.

Google announced via its Android Developer's blog that the company has been working on a feature that will help users free up space and storage without the need to uninstall applications. It is with the Android Archive app called "Bundletool," and it will release within the year for users to utilize for their necessities.

The Bundletool app is now in its development stage, and it is currently at its 1.10 version that aims to bring the feature to many, coming from Google for free. It is now available on its testing phase via GitHub, but Google said it would release the feature for various users on the App store for easier access and installation.

When is the Google Android Archive Coming?

Google's Android Archive tool promises to bring more or less 60 percent of the device's storage capacity, and it will help in freeing up significant space for the smartphone to fit its user's needs. Apps built with the Android Gradle Plugin 7.3 will generate a particular APK for it when archiving with the Bundletool, as per Google.

Android Archive is coming this year, but Google did not specify when it will release.

Google's Android

Android is still the most used operating system in the world now, and it is because the open-sourced OS is available on affordable devices from different manufacturers in the world. The smartphones bring a unique experience for users that mainly focus on having the hand to manage everything in their devices, unlike Apple's iPhone.

Android's OS focuses on its hands-on capabilities compared to iOS, which is one reason why people prefer it. However, several tweaks may harm or improve the device, and one of them includes the Adreno tool that will help update GPUs without the need for a root.

However, more people are prone to malware and viruses as the device is open to a lot of factors, and that includes the infamous Android Joker malware and many more.

Google's Android aims to give the public what it needs to tweak and personalize its devices for many of its processes. The new Android Archive seeks to allow users to store their files within their devices and have them available for use, but would not necessarily delete the items that would help it free storage for other needs.
