Meta announced that its new Messenger features are already available in the application for everyone to use, as it initially became available for some during its pilot stage. The new features include the silent notification messages that will deliver for the entire chat to read and the everyone tags that will call the attention of all the members.
The company said that this is a "messaging efficiency" feature that would ensure the group chat members will have control over their messages and allow them to focus on their needs. According to The Verge, Messenger only brought this feature earlier today, and all users of Messenger may now utilize it for their needs.
How to Use Messenger's Silent and Everyone Feature?
The command to the new feature is relatively easy to remember and access, and it does not need a person to go to specific tabs for it to work. However, it will only work for the Messenger app for the smartphone and computer app, not for the browser users of the platform.
Users need only to input "/silent" for no notifications to pop up on the message they wish to send, while they can also use "@everyone" to call the group's attention, immediately followed by the message.
Messenger is also aiming to release "/gif," "/shrug," and "/tableflip" soon.
Messenger's Features for the Public
Messenger is the former Facebook Messages that the company brought to a self-standing app for all messages to appear on one platform and focus on it alone. Since then, Messenger has brought features qualities exclusive to the platform and made it a destination for users to enjoy and utilize for all their communication needs.
