Believe it or not, Halo: The Master Chief Collection is still not in top fighting shape. For the past two months, developer 343 Industries has worked tirelessly to fix a number of issues that have plagued the game since launch.

Though matchmaking in the game largely functions now, there is still work to be done. 343 announced a new game update via its blog that is currently being tested. The update should be rolling out to Xbox One owners in the next few days.

This latest update will continue to address matchmaking issues, which made up the bulk of the game's issues at launch. Most players were unable to find matches, or if they could, would have to wait 10-15 minutes per round to do so. That issue has now been solved. This latest update looks to further improve the matchmaking success rate as well as ensuring the correct number of maximum players are working properly for each playlist. A number of bug fixes are coming as well -- such as one that allowed a player to equip two of the same weapon in Halo 4 multiplayer.

Outside of multiplayer improvements, the update will also fix the game's user interface and also looks to improve scoring across the game's four campaigns. The update will include "stability" improvements across the board.

The game may have had a rough start, but 343 is nonetheless dedicated to fixing the problems. Purchasers of the game will receive a free update that will add Halo 3: ODST to the game, as well as a free month of Xbox Live. How many more updates will it be until Halo: The Master Chief Collection is finally working as intended? Two months later it doesn't seem like 343 Industries is close to stopping updates anytime soon. Let's hope all they've learned will help make Halo 5's inevitable holiday release smooth sailing.
