Android 13's Photo picker could likely get a massive revamped, fixing various wonky issues, after an upgraded version made it to the beta Android 12 June feature drop, or shortly known as QRP3, of Pixel smartphones.

Android 13's Photo Picker Upgrade

As per a news story by XDA Developers, Google started rolling out quarterly Feature Drop beta updates quarterly for Pixel devices.

For instance, the first beta release of the Android 12 June Feature Drop was rolled out to Pixel phones during the start of March. It was shortly followed by the arrival of the second beta on April 7.

The recent beta Android drop of Google comes with numerous fixes to the annoying mishaps of the system, such as the crashing of the Google app and the messed up rendering on Google Maps.

Apart from these bug fixes, the search engine giant also silently released an upgraded version of the Photo picker.

Meanwhile, the revamped Photo picker that was seen on the Android 12 QPR3 Beta 2 also previously showed up in a developer preview of the upcoming Android 13, according to a recent report by Android Central,

As such, it appears that Google is starting to test out the new look of the Photo picker in time for its release on the Android 13 update.

Android Central noted in the same report that the new photo picker sports an upgraded UI, which separates photos and other media in tabs.

Photo Picker on Android 12 Beta

As mentioned, the new Photo picker on Android was seen in the latest Android 12 June Drop beta 2, which is set to release to the public two months from now.

So, those currently testing out the beta 2 of the Android June Drop could now check out the new system Photo picker of Google.

It is worth noting that the new Photo picker on the latest beta of the Android June Drop is still hidden beneath its system. That said, you will need to run some codes to enable its improved form.

To do so, as per to senior technical editor of Esper, Mishaal Rahman, who discovered it, you'll only have to run this command in an ADB Shell: md device_config put storage_native_boot picker_intent_enabled true.
