The release notes of the Tesla 2022.12.1 update confirmed that the bottom bar is now back after the automaker previously removed it from its system.

To be more precise, the release notes stated that owners of Tesla EVs could include various car controls to the highly-requested bottom bar.

On top of that, folks behind the wheel could also add buttons like "rear defrost" and "heated yoke," to name a few.

Tesla Customization Bottom Bar: How to Use

As clearly mentioned earlier, the customization bottom bar on Tesla is not entirely new.

In fact, Tesla owners have been enjoying the said feature on their electric cars until the tech giant ditched it when the Tesla Software V11 rolled out, according to a recent report by DriveTeslaCanada.

The controversial move of Tesla received consistent criticism from EV owners, who are clamoring for the comeback of the customization function on the bottom bar, which they find useful.

That said, despite the impressive features that the Software V11 brought to the table, Tesla owners still blurted out their complaints about the removal of the bottom bar customization option.

Nevertheless, the highly-requested feature is now back after the consistent backlash from numerous Tesla owners.

The Tesla update release notes went on to explain how the new bottom bar could be customized.

Before anything else, to use the bottom bar customization feature, Tesla owners should make sure that they have updated to its latest software version, the 2022.12.1.

Without any further ado, EV owners only have to "long press any app icon to enter edit mode."

After which, drag your preferred vehicle option to the new bottom bar.
