Elon Musk, founder and chief engineer of SpaceX speaks at the 2020 Satellite Conference and Exhibition March 9, 2020 in Washington, DC. Musk answered a range of questions relating to SpaceX projects during his appearance at the conference.

The popular tech CEO and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission have not really been on good terms, especially since SEC recently required Musk to censor his tweets related to Tesla.

The issue between the billionaire and the government organization started after Elon tweeted that the funds of Tesla were secured.

However, SEC regulators claimed that this statement is misleading. To solve this issue, the two had an agreement in which the SEC would have the right to review any Tesla-related tweet of the billionaire.

In the complaint, his lawyers claimed that SEC is using their deal to "harass" the CEO and obstruct his freedom of speech.

But, U.S. District Judge Lewis Liman decided to shut down their effort.

"Musk may wish it were otherwise, but he remains subject to the same enforcement authority -- and has the same means to challenge the exercise of that authority," said Liman.

He added that Elon could question the reviews made by SEC just like other people. In short, the petition made by Musk's lawyers was rejected, allowing SEC to remain as the Twitter Police even though the billionaire had already purchased the social media platform.

EU Officials Warn Elon Musk

Aside from the SEC issue, Elon Musk was also warned by some EU officials. They said that the CEO needs to follow the new Digital Services Act.

This new law forces social media giants to implement stricter moderation on the content that is published on their platforms, as reported by CNBC

With the EU's warning and SEC acting as the Twitter police, it seems like Elon Musk is still restricted when it comes to posting tweets.

On the other hand, Twitter founder Jack Dorsey shared that he trusts the Tesla CEO when handling the social media site.

Meanwhile, some Twitter users consider leaving the platform, and Digital Rights Watch explained why they suddenly deactivated.
