Bill Gates announced that he is COVID-19 positive after taking a test. The co-founder of Microsoft said that he felt mild symptoms and that he is "fortunate to be vaccinated and boosted."

In a recent tweet, Gates announced that, after two years into learning more about the pandemic, he had a positive test result for COVID-19. According to Geek Wire, the Microsoft co-founder said that on top of being vaccinated he also had testing and great medical care access.

The tech billionaire has been long warning about a COVID-type of outbreak as well as the precautions needed to help stem the virus' spread. A global coordinated response towards the pandemic has also been led by Gates and hundreds of millions of dollars have been committed by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

The foundation's commitment was directed towards both the development and distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Gates has also been the subject of different outlandish theories as noted by Reuters. Some of these theories include Gates developing a certain type of vaccine that had microchips implanted when injected onto a person.

The Microsoft co-founder announced his first COVID-19 vaccine dose on Jan 22, 2021 and even said that he felt great.

Gates Wrote a Book with Steps on How to Prevent Another Potential Pandemic from Happening in the Future

Gates was present in a ribbon cutting event for Inventprise's newly-built vaccine manufacturing facilities in Seattle. It should be noted that Inventprise is a Gates Foundation supported biotech company and during the event, Gates was found not wearing a face mask.

The billionaire also authored a book detailing different steps in order to avoid another COVID-19 titled "How to Prevent the Next Pandemic." The book is currently available on GatesNotes.com.

Gates also wrote a blog post regarding the book, saying that within the two years, one thing that the world has learned is that the threat of another variant or pathogen is not a way to live. The billionaire described the situation as "pivotal" saying there is now a lot of momentum directed towards the permanently stopping the pandemic.

Reports on the Current State of COVID-19 in the United States

An article by The New York Times gives an update of the COVID-19 situation saying cases haver doubled over the last few months. The article said that the increase in infected individuals is due to the widespread of the Omicron subvariants.

The New York Times noted that there are 81.8 million cases that are active, as of press time, with deaths amounting to almost a million. While new Omicron subvariants are popping up, Gates' book aims to address what can be done in order to avoid another pandemic in the future.
