Rumors are starting to circulate once more regarding Sony's moves when it comes to its PlayStation console. As per these rumors, it seems like PlayStation could be coming up with an event as early as June.

PlayStation to Host Either State of Play or 'God of War Ragnarok'

There could be three outcomes overall, either PlayStation will host the State of Play event, the event will be around the release of "God of War Ragnarok," or no event will happen at all. There could also be a combination of events, with one happening in June and another in September.

According to the story by Glitched.online, June is already starting to be packed up with all sorts of events. These events include the Xbox/Bethesda Games Showcase and the PC Gaming Show, and now, it seems like PlayStation could add an event to the mix.

Analyst Says He Heard that Sony Plans a PlayStation Event in June

Jeff Grubb, an analyst at VentureBeat, said that he actually heard that Sony has plans to host its PlayStation event around the same time as its competitors. A conversation with Grubb was spotted on Reddit from a YouTube podcast detailing a possible event.

Grubb disclaims that although he can't confirm that there would actually be an event, he heard from a bunch of people that there would indeed be an event in June. To add, Grubb tweeted out something that might contradict this rumor, saying he also heard that there won't be anything happening "until September."

Potential 'God of War Ragnarok' Event

The news, as per Glitched.online, is quite interesting due to "God of War Ragnarok" expected to be the biggest exclusive of PlayStation this year. The game is set to launch in 2022 but has not released an official release date or timeline.

Another possibility is that the upcoming event could be the State of Play showcase. Fans, however, believe that a State of Play showcase would mean the long-awaited game would be potentially delayed.

Potential PS5 Game Launches This Year

Playstation could also be planning to launch the State of Play event in June and might have another event happen in September if both rumors are met. Glitched.online says that fans can only wait and see since the only major releases expected this year are presumably "God of War Ragnarok" and "Forspoken" by Square Enix.

There are, however, some other games like "The Quarry," "DNF Duel," or "Outriders Worldslayer" that are expected to launch in June as per PSU. These games, however, are not exclusive to the PS5 but can also run on the PS4.

If all the rumors are to be believed, Sony could indeed launch the State of Play event earlier in June, with the major game releases to follow. This, however, is not confirmed, and the company might not even have an event at all.
