With a lot of eyes looking towards 5G technology as an upgrade of the previous 4G tech, T-Mobile is ramping up its 5G technology and with its Extended Range. The company, as of press time, is now covering 315 million people, stretching across 1.8 million square miles.

T-Mobile Extended Range 5G and Ultra Capacity 5G Coverage

According to the story by Android Headline, T-Mobile can be considered the "most attractive" carrier when it comes to its price and speed compared to other carriers. As per a nationwide study, the Un-carrier is considered the best when it comes to coverage and download/upload speeds.

The company has two offerings, namely its Extended Range 5G and Ultra Capacity 5G. The Extended Range 5G covers 315 million people stretched across 1.8 million square miles, while the Ultra Capacity 5G is only available to 225 million people in the United States.

Company's Plans for Its 5G Technology

T-Mobile plans to increase the number of people its Ultra Capacity 5G is capable of covering from 225 million people to 260 million people by the end of the year. The company is aiming to increase its coverage by 2023 to reach 300 million people.

As per a study that captured 3 billion samples from 600,000 5G users in the US by the research firm umlaut, it was confirmed that T-Mobile is currently the leader.

Research Backs Claims of T-Mobile Being the Best Network Provider

Neville Ray, the President of Technology at T-Mobile, says that anyone can claim to be a 5G leader and as per independent experts, T-Mobile is currently the number one network leader. As per Ray, their 5G network was able to deliver a higher performance, coverage and reliability.

When compared to what competitors were offering, Ray said that the company will only continue to improve as they accelerate their network. Although T-Mobile has long claimed that the company remains the best 5G network in the United States, there is now research to back its claims.

AT&T Ends Up in Last Place When It Comes to Download/Upload Speed

Aside from the research of umlaut, T-Mobile is also supporting its claims with research from other firms like Opensignal and Ookla. These two firms have already conferred a number of rewards across 20 network reports to the Un-carrier.

The chart from the umlaut report places AT&T in second place when it came to top network. Verizon ended up in third place but was able to take second place when it came to the download/upload speed test.

AT&T, however, ended up in last place when it came to download/upload. It is worth noting, however, that T-Mobile's 5G technology only covers 1.8 million square miles which although is more than half of the United States, it still does not cover the whole country.
