Apple is adding some of the most popular Gmail features to its own Mail app. This move could result in making the Cupertino giant's own email app a lot more similar to the widely used Gmail.

Apple to Add New Gmail Features to Its Mail App

According to the story by The Verge, Apple is making moves to incorporate beloved features of Gmail into its own Mail apps. This could provide its users with a more similar experience when using Apple's email app when compared to Google's email app.

SMS and emails have been around quite a lot, and while physical letters are starting to lose their power, emails, on the other hand, have been able to retain their hold when it comes to professional, personal, and other business uses.

Cupertino Giant to Add 'Unsend' Option to Its Mail App

When it comes to emails, however, a lot of attention revolves around Gmail due to its integration with drive. Aside from just sending emails, users can send them with attached files from Drive along with other features from the Google ecosphere.

The problem some users experienced with Apple Mail in the past is that it lacked an unsend option. This meant that if an email was sent, despite it not yet being finished, users would be left with nothing to do but to apologize for the wrongly-sent email.

How Does the Unsend Feature Work and What are Its Benefits?

Gmail offered a feature that could help stop users from sending embarrassing emails, the unsend option. This meant that within 10 seconds of clicking the send button, users will be able to call back the email.

This feature could be quite useful, especially in a professional setting where users have to make sure the emails they send are without typos or errors. Now, Apple is adding the unsend feature to its Mail app in order for its users to enjoy the same benefits.

Other Gmail Features Apple is Adding to Its Mail App

Aside from this feature, Apple is also adding another feature that helps users remember important emails. Gmail has a feature that allows users to be reminded of important emails through the "remind me" setting.

Apple will also be adding a scheduling feature that allows users to write an email and send it at a specific time. This feature is already available to Gmail users and now, iOS Mail users will be able to use the feature as well.

The Cupertino giant is also adding a feature that will alert users if it feels like a file or attachment was not included. The smart reminder attempts to help reduce the amount of emails sent that are either missing attachments or are still incomplete.
