Apple will soon allow its users to edit or undo their iMessages. The new feature was announced at Apple's World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC 2022) on Monday, June 6.

The edit and undo feature on iMessages will greatly assist those who often mess up their texts.

iMessage Edit Feature

Apple's CEO Tim Cook and other company executives reveal the newest updates to their products and provide a sneak peek of the feature that will be rolled out to more than 1 billion iPhones worldwide, according to Global News.

The Senior Vice President of Software Engineering, Craig Federighi, talked about the importance of the feature during the conference, pointing out that millions of iPhone users rely on messages daily, and the edit feature is one of the highly requested features.

The second highly requested feature is the ability to undo a sent message on iMessage, according to New York Post.

The third highly requested feature is being able to mark a thread unread, so if a user reads it and want to come back to it later, it will appear as if they did not read it already.

The three new features are just some of many Apple announced at its yearly Developers Conference. Federighi said that this would be the biggest update on iPhone, and soon, users will be able to add widgets, change fonts and colors too.

Federighi added that Apple would also focus on protecting the users' personal privacy by updating the privacy settings of their devices.

Apple plans to add a new tool to help people quickly turn off others' access and disable location sharing. This update will benefit those in an abusive relationship who need to cut off their partner for their safety.

Apple's Privacy Setting Update

Apple developed a new tool called Safety Check with domestic violence organizations. This will allow users to log out or even reset settings if they have shared information and passwords with someone else.

The senior manager of user privacy software, Katie Skinner, said Apple had received positive feedback with Safety Check, including from the National Center for Victims of Crime.

Apple MacBook Update

Changes to the Apple Watch, including an update to its workout app, were also announced during the conference. Apple revealed that it is redesigning the MacBook Air and updating apps like the calendar.

The Apple executives also revealed that two laptops would feature the latest microprocessor. The MacBook Air and MacBook Pro will soon be available for purchase with an upgraded chip. This will improve the efficiency and graphics of the laptops.

The MacBook Air will cost around $1,500, and the MacBook Pro will sell for around $1,600. The two laptops will be equipped with the new microprocessor that will be available in July.

However, there is no official date for the iOS 16 update, but it is believed that it will be released to the public in September.

According to TechCrunch, Apple Watch will also get an upgrade. There will be four new watch faces Lunar, Astronomy, Metropolitan, and Play Time.

The watch will also have a new banner notification to keep you updated without taking over the entire screen.
