EU lawmakers believe that if all electronics can have one common charger, the e-waste can be reduced. It can also make consumers' lives easier since they can use only a single charger for all their devices.

But, if Apple will not be able to comply, it is required to sell only wireless iPhone models. As of press time, there are already some Apple gadgets that rely on USB-C ports.

However, the iOS smartphone is still not one of them. With the arrival of the EU's new legislation, this situation is expected to change.

Officials also claimed that the new rule could encourage consumers to re-use their chargers. If you want to see further details about the new USB-C charging port requirement for iPhones, you can visit this link.
