Twitch Streamer Spends $6,000+ on 'Diablo Immortal'

As per a news story by Kotaku, a Twitch streamer no less than Quin69 spared thousands of dollars in the loot box mechanism of the mobile game.

Quin69 started shelling out $25 to purchase the loot box of the game, hoping to get a rare item like a 5-star Legendary Gem.

But like most loot boxes, the Twitch streamer opens a couple more but to no avail.

While other players would seem to have a hang of it after a few failed attempts, Quin69 traveled a route no one else had tried.

The gaming streamer went on with the spending and reached a whopping $6,600 or roughly 10,300 in New Zealand dollars. What started from a mere $25 has surprisingly ballooned to this.

At that rate, some would assume that Quin69 got what he wanted.

But due to the extremely low chance of getting a 5-star Legendary Gem, which is only one percent, it appears that he needs to spend more than $6,600.

The Twitch streamer had no choice but to blurt out in frustration that he had spent NZD 10,335.51 and got, as Quin69 puts it: nothing.

According to a recent report by Metro UK, the streamer also mentioned other things that he could have bought instead of spending it uselessly on a mobile gaming title.

The 'Diablo Immortal' players and hefty spender said that he could have bought a car already with the price he paid for essentially nothing.

Diablo Immortal Mobile Game

The all-new mobile game "Diablo Immortal" recently debuted globally, with exceptions in countries like the Netherlands and Belgium.

The very reason why it skipped the two nations is how the streamer ended up spending thousands of dollars on the game.

Both Belgium and the Netherlands have banned the Blizzard game for its loot boxes.

Players of the new game have been criticizing its microtransaction economy. Kotaku notes that a gamer is required to spend over $100,000 to max out the characters on the gaming title, estimates claim.

Another outspoken game streamer, Asmongold, previously dubbed the Blizzard title as "pay-to-win."
