"Roller Champions" is coming to both the Nintendo Switch and Epic Games Store on June 21 of this year. Upon its launch, the game's Disco Fever season is also expected to start.

'Roller Champions' is Making Its Way to Switch and Epic Games Store

While it's pretty common for Epic Games Store to launch free games every once in a while, this isn't always the case with the Nintendo Switch. Although Switch still does this occasionally, it is rare for games that aren't small in structure to be offered for free on the Nintendo Switch.

According to the story by Engadget, Ubisoft reportedly released "Roller Champions" in May of this year. The game was long-delayed and is considered one of the company's latest sports games.

Game Already Available on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch

The game was made available for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and even Nintendo Switch players upon its release. An eShop listing in the UK that was initially spotted by Nintendo Life gave the first indications regarding the free-to-play title's upcoming release on hybrid consoles come June 21.

The publisher officially announced a new season for "Roller Champions" which it calls the Disco Fever. As per Ubisoft, the new season is expected to become available at the same time that the game will make its way to Switch and the Epic Games Store.

Game Not Yet Listed on the North American Storefront

The interesting thing about the game, however, is that it is still not listed on either platform's storefront located in North America as of press time. The game, however, can be found on the New Zealand eShop and can be downloaded from there.

As per Engadget, they were able to download the game but have not yet been able to log in stating that this could be because the Switch servers might still be offline. The publication decided to reach out to Ubisoft regarding more news about the game's rollout.

'Roller Champions' Could Make Its Way to Stadia and Amazon Luna

During the Ubisoft announcement of "Roller Champions," it officially gave a release date for the PC, the PlayStation, and the Xbox consoles. When it came to the Switch, however, the publisher said that the availability of the game on the handheld device was still on the way.

Ubisoft also noted that access to the game on Stadia and Amazon Luna editions was also still on the way. As announced, it seems like the game could become available on cloud gaming platforms some time later on.

'Roller Champions' Remains Free-to-Play for Now

The good thing about "Roller Champions" is that it is a free-to-play game by Ubisoft which allows players to enjoy the roller-derby-with-a-ball game without having to pay anything. The game allows players to compete with each other and is still available for free as of press time.

It's important to note that the game might not be free forever and it really depends on Ubisoft if it will retain the game for free moving forward.
