Hyundai has unveiled the look of the Ioniq 6, a prospective electric car that takes design cues from the 2020 Prophecy concept car.

With its aerodynamic form and neat lines, the new electric car preserves the futuristic characteristics of the Prophecy model. According to Hyundai, the electric vehicle will be equipped with an extremely low drag coefficient of 0.21, compared to most recent automobiles that only have an average drag coefficient of 0.3 or 0.25.

This feature was made possible due to the car's active air flaps, low nose, and several features. Additionally, it has a modest boat-tail structure and an elliptical wing-based spoiler.

Ioniq 6's Interior Design

The Ioniq 6's interior is designed like a cocoon and is furnished with eco-friendly elements, including eco-process leather or recycled PET fabric for the chairs.

The company's electric vehicle modular platform allowed its designers to increase the car's proportions and provide a perfectly flat floor for greater space.

It also sports a modular touchscreen dashboard equipped with a 12-inch touchscreen display and a 12-inch digital cluster for its entertainment and navigation system.

Hyundai said that in order to strengthen the IONIQ brand's identity throughout the vehicle, it would incorporate more than 700 Parametric Pixels in a variety of locations - such as air vent garnishes, rear combination, headlamps, front lower sensors, lamps, and center console indicator.

Further, when the brakes are engaged, the Parametric Pixel High-Mounted Stop Lamp (HMSL) on the rear wing produces a striking light display. The newly created Hyundai "H" logo is fitted to the front and back of the IONIQ 6 to emphasize its distinctiveness, according to the automaker.

"Emotional Confluence of Aesthetics and Functionality"

According to SangYup Lee, Executive Vice President and Head of the Hyundai Design Center, the IONIQ 6 links an emotional confluence of "aesthetics" and "functionality."

"The distinctive streamlined design is the result of close cooperation between engineers and designers, with obsessive attention to detail and customer-centric values at the core. We have created the IONIQ 6 as a mindful cocoon that offers a personalized place for all," Lee said in a press release of the company.

In addition to using sustainable materials and being energy efficient, Hyundai claims that the IONIQ 6's design was "human-centric" from the outset and that the inside space was designed concurrently with the outside shape.

Further, the company's press release details that the interior was stretched at the front and back in an effort to "maximize and optimize" the available space, giving the vehicle a distinctive streamliner shape.

When Will Ioniq 6 Be Released?

The car manufacturer has not yet released details on the EV's specifications. Hyundai, however, revealed that Ioniq 6 would have a 446 pound-feet of torque, 320 horsepower, and the capacity to accelerate from 0 to 60 MPH in less than 5 seconds.

Ioniq 6's debut will commence in July this year, and Hyundai will also announce all of the vehicle's full specifications and functionalities.
