Tesla employees' attendance is now being monitored by the giant automaker, as claimed by a worker who anonymously.

The individual shared this detail via the Blind, a popular app that allows workers in various companies to share their experiences without sharing their identities. 

Previously, Elon Musk announced that he wants all Tesla workers to start going back to their physical offices. Those who will not comply might be laid off. 

Now, the EV maker may be taking its efforts to the next level by tracking the attendance of employees and checking those who haven't badged in for the past 16 days or a month.

According to Business Insider's latest report, the Tesla employee posted a screenshot of an automated email from Tesla on Tuesday, June 28.

The anonymous person claimed that if you click the email, it will direct you to the official email address of your Tesla boss. 

After that, you will be required to send an explanation for your absence. 
In the message, Tesla said that they will understand why employees are not able to go back to their employees since they are either sick, on a vacation, or still traveling. 

But, the automaker added that workers still need to provide clear reasons why they were not able to badge in. 

"This feels wrong. I can't quite put it into words why it bothers me, it feels like it's an overstep. It's controlling. Its disrespectful," said the Tesla staff. 

Is Attendance Monitoring Really Too Much?

For the anonymous employee who shared the latest attendance monitoring of Tesla, it is too much for him to handle. 

Aside from him, other staff also shared their disappointment, saying that Tesla has the right to order employees to return to offices, but tracking their badges is a bad move.
