And it turns out that more and more Steam players have started upgrading their systems with the latest Windows 11, as per a news story by Tom's Hardware.

In fact, the latest Steam survey shows that the number of Windows 11 users has already gone past the 20 percent mark. The market share of the latest Microsoft operating system for this June is roughly 21.23 percent.

Tom's Hardware did the math, and it appears that more Steam players are slowly adapting to Windows 11, as it sees a 1.64 percent increase from last month.

It is worth noting that Microsoft released Windows 11 way back in October 2021. It means to say that the operating system has been available for nearly nine months.

However, according to a recent report by Nerd Stash, multiple reports say that gamers prefer to settle with Windows 10 even if the new update is readily available.

Meanwhile, Tom's Hardware also notes that the early versions of the Windows 11 carries a few bugs and issues. So, it seems that Steam players have waited for these problems to be ironed out before making the big switch.

A report from PC Gamer says that the low market share of Windows 11 is quite surprising given that Microsoft touts the new OS to be better for gaming.

Steam Players and Windows 10

On the other hand, the latest Steam Hardware Survey showed that gamers are also leaving behind the older version of the OS, Windows 10.

The Windows 11 predecessor saw a drastic 2.63 percent decrease in market share last June.

But despite its significant drop, Windows 10 still holds the undisputed majority of 71.26 percent - far from the 21.23 percent of the latest Windows.

What's pretty much interesting is that the survey also learned that about three percent of Steam players are still settling with Windows 7.

Apart from the Windows stuff, the survey also showcased the most used graphics card among Steam players.

And the highly popular GeForce GTX 1060 is the favorite graphics card of Steam gamers these days. The second place is none other than the GeForce GTX 1650, followed by the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, which takes the third spot.
