The draft list and example images for Emoji 15.0 are available on Emojipedia, though designs will differ depending on the platform. Only 31 draft emoji are available this year from the Unicode Consortium, and they'll probably be released in 2022 and 2023.

However, most of the draft emojis will only remain until they are finalized in September. Emoji candidates include a pink heart, a shaking face, a high five, and other exciting emojis!

New Emojis To Watch Out For

It's about time we have an official high-five emoji since people usually use the folded hands emoji. The shaking face emoji will surely be an alternative for the shocked emoji, or it could indicate a more extreme form of shock for users.

There will also be rightward and leftwards pushing hand emojis, which could mean that you're going to "pass" on something or you want someone or something to stop. At the same time, they could also be used as a high five when typed together.

Additionally, a Wi-Fi emoji is finally coming. There is currently no available emoji for Wi-Fi, and users are forced to resort to the Antenna Bars emoji, which is intended to resemble a mobile signal.

The plain pink heart is also one of the most requested emojis users have long been waiting to find on their keyboards. Luckily, pink heart enthusiasts could expect the emoji later this year!

The Verge pointed out that an emoji update wouldn't be complete without some brand-new animals and plants. There will be new species of birds, mammals, and scary sea creatures in Emoji 15. Particularly, it will include a donkey, a goose, a moose face, a black bird, a jellyfish, and a wing!

Maracas should be available as emoji on iOS and Android later this year, which will satisfy fans of Latin music. To have more color variations of the heart emoji, light blue and grey will also be included.

The Draft List

Emoji 15 has a total of 31 recommended emojis, which is much fewer than the 112 suggestions from the previous year and the 334 from 2020. According to Emojipedia, this is the least amount of new emojis that Unicode has ever approved all at once.

Furthermore, this batch of recommendations is the first time ever that no brand-new people emojis exist. However, this comes after the last three batches of emoji recommendations overwhelmingly consisted of people emojis.

Since this is only a draft list, it is not yet known which emojis will be included in Emoji 15, but as recent years have shown, the final version will probably retain this preliminary list.

This indicates that no additional emojis will be included at this time. However, there is a very tiny possibility that a draft emoji candidate will be modified or eliminated before September, according to Emojipedia.
