This allowed ByteDance to generate lots of revenue. However, it seems like the Chinese multinational internet tech firm wants to enter the SoC market.

But, will ByteDance actually sell its in-house SoCs for gadget development?

This is because the company believes that the chipsets it will develop will not be able to meet the common standards of suppliers' gadgets.

Although this is the case, there's a chance that other chipmakers may also partner with ByteDance to make the company's SoCs.

Experts concluded that ByteDance will be creating its SoC designs. After that, these blueprints will be used by Alchip, TSMC, and other giant chip manufacturers, helping the tech firm to mass produce its in-house chipsets.

The plan of ByteDance was revealed after various sources spotted some job openings linked to chip-making.

TMTPost reported that the internet company opened some positions that are specifically for chip-related specialists, interns, and other professionals.

ByteDance Plans With In-House SoCs

TikTok's owner hasn't confirmed its exact plans for the upcoming in-house chipsets. But, some critics and enthusiasts already shared their predictions on how ByteDance will use its own SoCs.

They claimed that these in-house SoCs will specifically be designed to enhance other services and products of ByteDance.

These include its video platforms, as well as entertainment applications. On the other hand, the in-house chipsets may also be used by ByteDance to have more efficient information dissemination.

As of writing, rumors believe that the new semiconductor project of ByteDance will focus on two popular trends.

The first one is China's intention to manufacture new competencies in the field of basic tech-related computing.

The second one is focusing on the rising demand for new and more effective in-house SoCs.

Recently, a TikTok warning was issued by Italy after the Chinese app tried to released unwanted targeted ads.

On the other hand, experts claimed that TikTok's search result is becoming a major threat to Google.
