If you need a massive productivity boost, you can use the split-screen feature on your Android phone. It is quick and easy, and it enables you to work faster. This feature is available on Android 7 or later models.

The split screen mode does not work on every single app, but Android makes it simple to tell which apps support it. By using the feature, you can watch a video while messaging someone in just a couple of seconds.

Here's how you can use split-screen on Android regardless of which phone you use.

Using Split Screen On Android

There are two methods that you can use to activate the split-screen feature on your phone. You can either use gesture-based navigation or a gesture-based button, according to Laptop Mag.

For gestured-based navigation, make sure that both apps that you would like to use in split-screen are activated and open. Swipe up slowly from the bottom of the display to bring the app switcher.

For stock Android or Samsung, make sure that you long press the icon for the first app that you would like to use on split-screen. For OnePlus, just long press the body for the first app that you would like to use on split-screen.

Just tap on split screen and choose the second app that you would like to have a split screen.

For button-based navigation on Android, just make sure that both apps that you would like to use are open. Tap the app switcher button on the screen.

For Android or Samsung phones, just long press the icon for the first app that you would like to have a split-screen. For OnePlus, just long press the body of the first app that you would like to have a split screen.

Just tap on split screen and choose the second app that you would like in split-screen.

You should have both apps open, with each one taking up half of the phone screen's display. Split-screen works fine in either method, so just rotate your phone horizontally, and the apps will reorient themselves properly.

At the midpoint, a slider will let you resize the apps to a 75/25 split instead of a 50/50 split by dragging the line into position, according to Business Insider.

Split Screen on iPhone

If you want a split screen on your iPhone, you can activate the feature, but you need to remember that not all phone models support the mode, according to Collective Ray.

The mode integrated with the iOS menu is not the traditional iPhone split screen mode, so whether or not your device, has the mode depends on the model.

The feature is only compatible with the more recent iPhone models, and all iPhones with the suffix Max, Pro, or Plus starting with the 6 models are included in the category, but the cheaper phone models do not have this.

In order to split the screen on your iPhone, just go to Settings, select Display and Brightness, choose Display, then Zoom, select Set, and tap on Use Zoom. Once you're done with the settings, your phone will be able to switch to Split Screen mode.
