There was a prominent rumor back then that talked about "The Last of Us" and "Fortnite's" crossover that would incorporate the elements of both games into the experience. However, those rumors are shot dead now, as "TLOU's" director for both games, Neil Druckmann, said this is a "false rumor" from the public.

The famous third-person survival game that centers on zombies is not crossing over to the renowned battle royale game from Epic Games.

Co-president of Naughty Dog and "The Last of Us" Director Neil Druckmann confirmed on Twitter that there are no crossovers between the famous survival zombie game and the battle royale. Druckmann clarified that there were no plans in the first place, saying this was a "false rumor" from those who talked about it online.

It only means that Naughty Dog and Epic Games did not discuss anything regarding "The Last of Us" and "Fortnite's" crossover that would bring content from one platform to another. The game director shut down any rumor and further speculations regarding this game, saying that he loves "Fortnite," only that there are no plans for bringing its content over to the shooter game.

Ellie, Joel, and Other Characters Not Coming to Battle Royale

According to ComicBook Gaming, there were previous rumors regarding PlayStation exclusive games that bring its characters and elements to "Fortnite," which is one of the bases for this rumor. However, it is not applicable for all, despite having Naughty Dog's "Uncharted" arrive on "Fortnite" several months ago.

"The Last of Us" and "Fortnite's" collaboration is a no-go, and gamers would not be seeing Ellie, Joel, and other characters from "TLOU's" franchise coming to the battle royale.

'The Last of Us' and 'Fortnite'

What is great about "The Last of Us" is that its directors and studio did not think it would be a success and did not build a game to bring a significant title for all. It focused on what the game wants to get for the world, focusing on the experience of a zombie apocalypse that centers on the famous characters that completed the story.

It made Naughty Dog's "The Last of Us" bring the world a chance to experience a story that compels them to the character and gives them insight regarding the reality of a zombie outbreak in real life.

On the other hand, Epic Games' famous battle royale is still thriving as it did on console, featuring its latest Chapter 3 Season 3 experience that provides the latest game. Different new arrivals and offers are available for all gamers, and the battle royale brings this for all to access and enjoy, with many things available here.

These games are massive, and seeing it, the crossover would either be a good one that would bring enormous recognition from the public and critics or a flop that would tarnish its names in the industry. However, the rumors are false, says the director and no plans regarding a crossover were made between both companies, and it is something that fans and reports theorized for the games.
